    The Gullah Dialect

Some other examples are Kumbaya “Come by here” which has been largely accredited to the Gullah people. Additionally the site also states that in the 2005 because of the newfound pride in the language and the educated Gullah people using it more openly they have translated the New testament of the bible into the modern Gullah dialect. Tis took them 20 years to accomplish. As of February 2016 when this article was posted a quarter of a million people spoke the Gullah dialect.
